Saint-Veran 2016 Albert Bichot 13%
Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on marly limestone and flinty clay.
Vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 5-6 weeks. Aged in 80% tank and 20% barrel for 8 months.
This is a really smart wine from one of the less well-known vineyards in the Maconnais region, around Pouilly Fuissé not far from the famous Rock of Solutré
The nose reveals hints of smoke followed by scents of fern and acacia moving on to aromas of ripe fruit with a hint of aniseed.
The palate features an appealing roundness, with citrus flavours, notes of vanilla and hazelnut, all of which are enhanced by beautiful minerality. This is a subtle and complete wine, well-balanced, structured and generous with a refreshing finish.
Served in Business Class on Singapore Airlines so settle back in your armchair and indulge.
